Haunted Rooms

I've been thinking often about haunted rooms. Why do some incarnates remain in a single room, or a single domicile? Are they tethered there by some force as yet known? Or do they remain as a course of habit? It beguiles me; it truly does. The intent of all ghosts is to do harm, to wreak carnage upon us all. So why are their powers so limited? Of course, not all ghosts prescribe to this behavior. Some walk freely among us and perhaps travel far and often. But for those who do not, I have no hypothesis to test. I shall put forth all my efforts of concentration to break this stalemate of reality. When I have reached enlightenment, I shall report back.

  1. In the haunted house I grew up in, nothing haunted the newer rooms of the home, however, the booted footsteps that went up the stairs every night were always associated with the death of a Civil War soldier when the house was a field hospital. The only problem is that my mother, the historian who uncovered the history of the home and got it onto the historical register, told me that the original stairway was in a different part of the house. So, who was walking up our stairs each night??? It is the very limitations of ghosts to communicate with people (especially loved ones who would most want to contact the living), makes me wonder if in fact they are souls or perhaps just environmental memories. I cannot wait to hear your upcoming observations. Conjecture is my favorite activity.
