The only problem is that my mother, the historian who uncovered the history of the home and got it onto the historical register, told me that the original stairway was in a different part of the house. So, who was walking up our stairs each night??? It is the very limitations of ghosts to communicate with people (especially loved ones who would most want to contact the living), makes me wonder if in fact they are souls or perhaps just environmental memories.
